Well the Veterans are starting to trickle in and we have the start of another year of Eagles football. With our critical eye on the eagle defense, everyone's hoping that a second year under this d coach will lead to better things than last year. But this looks to be a team that will score some points.
My key? If Keven Kolb limits the turnovers to a manageable number (interceptions and fumbles) I think that this team will actually do a lot better than most experts expect. Let's see how camp goes.

the guys were looking good today, especially Kolb. One interception, but the rest were very good passes. Even had a fight between the new corner and a receiver. But DeSean Jackson was carted off the field with back injury. hopefully, it's not serious.
I love football season!

It's early of course, but if you are looking for standouts at camp so far, number one is Michigan's Brandon Graham. I think he is going to be a future great, as he creates a very significant pass rush. Even the guys he was going against were giving him cred.
Second-year wideout Jeremy Maclin has a chip on his shoulder about being called the number 2 wide receiver, and he's looking real good body-wise this year. Don’t be surprised if he plays a significant role in the offense this year with Kolb as quarterback.
last but not least is brent Celek, the dynamic tight end. Kevin Kolb and Celek are already close friends off the field, so expect that he is going to have some key catches as Kevin will look for him as Mcnabb use to look for his Running back option. With the chemistry already shown last year between these two when they played the Saints and Chiefs, they should make a dynamic duo in 2010.
The offense should be really good this year. As for the defense, still looking!

Hi Insider, Yeah, everyone is reporting that he is looking real good in training camp. Maybe we won't have a number 1 pick bust this year. Hope so.

Hey guys, just got back from training camp and things are looking good. On offense at least. Keep your eyes on this kid drafted from Florida, the wide receiver Riley Cooper. He is turning heads left and right in training camp. And can you believe it? A white receiver that is physical, athletic, big and has moves? Yep! This kid is going to be very good in this league. Mark my words. He's already been in a fight, is pushing down defenders, already making a name for himself. I like him!

Insider, from a guy who can't get down there, I love your reports about who's doing well. But can you tell us who is underachieving? Thanks!

Eagle's first preseason game is out of the way, and there were some good things and some bad things that I think we saw.
The good things were the on target passing of Kolb, great pocket presence by the quarterback, a good showing by the offensive line, Desean Jackson as great as ever, and great energy and comradery from the whole team.
The bad things were Kevin Kolb forcing the ball in ways that could lead to interceptions, porous special teams play at times, an inability to score touchdowns in the red zone, and Kevin zoned in looking for his friend at tight end too much.
The first team defense looked ok for a first game showing, but the second team defense was brutal. the defensive backs got torched repeatedly, and the safety was out of position. Granted, it's only one preseason game, and they're not going to show Jacksonville anything good, because they play them early in the season, but the defense worries me a bit.

OK? They were actually really good for a change. They were making plays, tackling and even hitting. If they keep this up, I see a 10 win season for the Eagles. I'm really encouraged by what I saw. Granted, it's only one preseason game like you say, but I think they have improved.

To listen to the nitwits on WIP, you would think the sky is falling on the Eagles. last night's preseason game against Cincinnati was good and bad, but hardly the disaster that some are making it out to be. Kevin kolb played really well, for having no offensive line do anything. he threw the ball well for the most part, he moved well, he extended plays (because the line stinks) with his feet, and he threw a touchdown (which of course was called back because the offensive line again couldn't seem to line up on sides.
Beside from the Offensive line being horrible last night, both Michael Vick and Michael Kafka played poorly and both threw two interceptions. The first team defense played well, but the specia teams did not.
But folks, stay away from WIP radio and get off the ledge. It's only the second preseason game. GeeesssHHHHH!

The Offensive line was really bad, even Andy said they needed to fix some things. And I was shocked at how poorly Michael Vick played. I know he's not that bad so the line must have really not given the second teamers any time.

Oh boy, this team really looks bad. I hope it is just preseason, but it doesn't look good. The starters didn't look good, the offensive line flat out stank up the stadium, kevin Kolb played very poorly, Michael Vick looked like he reverted to playground football, and still little success in the red zone. Tell me it's just preseason and I have nothing to worry about? Because Kolb, in the last two games, has made Mcnabb look pretty good. And that is distressing The only bright spots I saw? Michael Kafka stepped up his game and played really well. And all the coaches are saying that he is the smartest QB they have ever seen, picking up the offense faster than they could have imagined. And he needs to, judging by the look of Michael Vick. The second bright spot was wide receiver Cooper. mark my words, this guy is going to be a star. he's big, he's physical, he's faster than he looks, and he has vacuum cleaner hands. Wow! What a steal!

Watching this 4th Eagles preseason game was a waste of brain cells. None of the regulars or starters played, and the game was simply awful. I long for the days when Buddy played his team all preseason games, and no one got hurt.
I am all for the 18 game season, and from what I am hearing, it is all but a done deal. If it means we don't have to sit through what I sat through Thursday, I say git to it!
